Minati has proved the saying by winning gold in the 44 kilo category of weight lifting in the currently going on common wealth youth championship in Cape town. Following her mentor Mr. K Ravi Kumar, another weightlifter from Berhampur, Minati Das, brought fame to the state of Orissa as she won gold in the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Girls championship at cape town on Monday. Ravi, who had won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games-2010, had also won the medal in the Commonwealth (youth) championships earlier.
