Economic recession

The Story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the roadside. He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers. He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio. His eyes were weak, so he never watched television. But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs. He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales. His sales and profit went up. He ordered more a more raw material and buns and use to sale more. He recruited few more supporting staff to serve more customers. He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove. As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from College, joined his father.
Then something strange happened. The son asked, "Dad, aren't you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?" The father replied, "No, but tell me about it." The son said, "The international situation is terrible. The domestic situation is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times" The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watching TV, he ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly. So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his raw material order and buns, took down the colorful signboard, removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic. He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs. Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hotdog stand. And his sales started coming down rapidly, same is the profit. The father said to his son, " Son, you were right. We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time."

What can we take away from this story??

While it's important to have an outstanding one or two-page resume, here is a supplementary credentials strategy for your job search. In addition to your resume, create a world-class executive portfolio. I know, I know; virtually every book on resume writing and almost every career counselor, resume writer, recruiter, and HR manager across the country will tell you to write the traditional resume. Of course, you should do that. But at the same time, don't be afraid to break out of the resume "box."
In today's tough job market, you need to create a competitive difference or "brand" to generate interviews. To achieve that end, I encourage you to build an executive portfolio.
The portfolio is focused on your expertise and ability to make a bottom-line contribution. It requires extensive preparation with many long, hard hours of work. The end result will be an extraordinary set of marketing credentials. Typically, these credentials will run six to ten pages in length.
The critical key to the success of an executive portfolio is that it is presented directly to the decision-maker - typically a C-level executive, president, vice president, department head, executive search team, or person most likely to be your boss. If the organization has a need for someone with your expertise (notice I said expertise, not experience), he or she will read every word. The use of this approach by thousands of my clients has demonstrated that it generates interviews at a rate far greater than any other approach.
The exact content of the portfolio will vary for each individual. Descriptions of the most common elements are as follow:
NOTE: It is not necessary that every item listed here be included. This list is to serve as an idea generator.

Resume:The focus should be on key accomplishments. Quantify the results if possible. At the very least, provide good qualitative results. Most importantly, include a visual where possible. Yes, that's right. Visuals may include graphs, tables or charts. People are visually motivated; powerful visuals are used to stimulate the buyer for every product or service nationwide. Why shouldn't you do the same to generate an interview?
Accomplishment Summaries:Create one-page summaries of key accomplishments you have achieved throughout your career. Place each summary on its own page. These summaries should include a powerful descriptive title, a brief description of the problem or situation, a bulleted list of your actions, and a two or three-sentence quantitative/qualitative summary of the results. You should develop at least ten of these summaries for use in different situations, but you will typically include only three to five summaries in each portfolio.

Project List:This option is perfect for engineers, programmers, consultants or anyone whose career centers on projects. List all the major projects in which you played a key role. The list should be confined to one or two pages. Each item will typically be limited to one or two sentences.

Field Research Summary:This document demonstrates your intense interest in the reader's company and industry. It may include a summary of interviews with customers, distributors, association executives, or employees. For business development people, a review of the competitive marketplace is very effective. This document may also contain data on field surveys you conduct.

Independent Study Summary:This is an excellent document for people undertaking dramatic career transitions. It can demonstrate your knowledge and insight into industry key issues, emerging technologies, and products - even though you may not have experience in the industry. Generally this document will contain a summary of the information plus a bibliography supporting your conclusions.

Synopsis of Patented, Copyrighted, or Authored Material:Examples of published materials can include:
a) A one-page review of a patent, including application and benefitb) A summary of a software program you designed, including application and benefitc) A synopsis of a book or article you published
If the article is not too long, include a copy if the information is relevant to the position for which you are applying.

Summary of Industry or Position Insights:This can be the most important document you create. In one page, using a bulleted or narrative form, present the key issues you would address if you were in that position. This document demonstrates your insight, industry/position intelligence, initiative, and proactive thinking. It is rare that any individual will take the time and effort to create this document, but when properly used, it typically results in a grand-slam home run for generating interviews!
To better understand the development of a portfolio, here are a few different formats:
1. Online Multimedia Format:Placing your portfolio into a Web format is extraordinarily powerful. It demonstrates that you are current and extraordinarily powerful. It demonstrates that you are current and contemporary. The visual impact is striking. You can use photos, sound bytes, and even video instructions. Video clips as part of an executive's credentials are exploding in popularity and relevance. They are here to stay. Further, visuals of all types are expected in websites. It will knock their socks off! To get it in front of the decision maker, just send him/her a short two-sentence email cover letter with a link to your portfolio. From a legal standpoint, companies cannot request a photograph or video, but it is legal to voluntarily submit one.
2. MS Word Portfolio Resume Format:These portfolios are great as an attachment to an email. However, an even more powerful strategy is old-fashioned "snail mail." Print out your portfolio in color. Place it into a presentation folder with the cover letter and resume on one side, and the supporting documents on the other side. Include a business card in the card slot. Snail mail it direct to the decision maker.
A well-written resume portfolio represents a powerful, out-of-the-box alternative to a traditional resume strategy. When targeted to decision makers who seek credibility from executives, it can often open elusive doors of opportunity. Leaders go where others fear to tread. Go ahead and "break the rules" with a resume portfolio. You will be glad you did.

Cute Story

While walking through Buddha Garden In Delhi, a man came upon another man hugging a tree with his ear firmly against the tree. Seeing this he inquired, 'Just out of curiosity, what the heck are you doing?' I'm listening to the music of the tree,' the other man replied. 'You've gotta be kiddin' me.' 'No, would you like to give it a try?' Understandably curious, the man says, 'Well, OK...' So he wrapped his arms around the tree and pressed his ear up against it. With this, the other guy slapped a pair of handcuffs on him, took his wallet, jewelry,car keys, then stripped him naked and left.

Two hours later another nature lover strolled by, saw this guy handcuffed to the tree stark naked, and asked, 'What the heck happened to you?' He told the guy the whole terrible story about how he got there. When he finished telling his story, the other guy shook his head in sympathy, walked around behind him, kissed him gently behind the ear and said.......'This just ain't gonna be your day,cupcake...'

Nainital 2008

People were much excited to be a part of the annual tour which was scheduled long back in 2008। As usual it was a two day visit to the highest lake in India, the naini lake in nainital ( Himachal Pradesh). It was all a company sponsored Annual tour like every year. in 2006 we had been to Shimla, 2007 we witnessed Manali and this year its Nainital. We had booked the Purani Haveli where many Bollywood movies in the 1980's were shooted and to tell you it was an awesome experience for all of us for being there. We started on 30th Sep night in luxury Bus from our office in gurgaon. We all were 32 people including wives and husbands of few of the employees. After we finished our second shift we boarded the bus after we clicked few group photos to cherish the moment. The initial count was on on the bus to kick off the journey. Our Bus started towards our destination around 10.30 pm in the night for a long 11 hr journey. On the way to Nainital we had our dinner at 12.20 am night in Moradabad and started again. The whole journey i was jokes, music and mischiefs going on through out the journey with sips of soft and hard drinks. When the morning light made us wake up it was the spectacular natural beauty of the mountains were all around us. We were refreshed and recharged by the calm and cool climate of the hilly state of Northern India. We stopped the bus and had our morning tea and headed towards the hotel. We reached the hotel at around 7.00 am and were fitted to the rooms. We then had our breakfast and headed for boating. Then in the evening we went to the mall road and late in the evening we had a born fire and were enjoying the company,the weather,the moment till midnight. The next day we went to the china baba mandir 4 kilometers on the rock. It was a great experience. Everybody was enjoying and it was all a great memorable experience for all of us. In the verge of year 2008

The year end has come and as usual I am looking for something to change. This time too I have got couple of options to choose from but I am not looking forward to compromise on any front. So waiting patiently for the right opportunity. the year 2008 has been so far a good one for me as its the year which got me a promotion in the present company and its the first company where i have stayed so long. I completed my 2 years in this company last month and it was a good experience for me as well. The year 2008 got my father retired from his services and a relaxed mindset for him.In fact it has come at the right time where his health is not permitting he is well out of his services. the year 2008 got my mother survive a serious health disorder but by the grace of god everything is fine now. Behind all i was a worried man altogether with issues prompting with worries and disappointment. But yea in deed it gave me an opportunity to jump on but i decided the best way to be here in the preesent company only. Again now am searching for and getting good options to choose from. I am in hope to change this time and to look for a better paying opportunity tohang on for the next two years. Hope everything will go in my favour.
