the incredible Corporate culture (Work Culture)

This might be a word from the HR desk but it really a meaningful and a vital aspect in present day corporate world. This in turn decides a very USP ( Unique Selling Point ) for attracting new manpower and to retain the existing manpower in any organization. Now today when the upcoming challenges in the corporate world with the entries of the Multinational companies in India every company is trying to get itself suited and want to be a preferredEmployer for the Employees. Today when a private company is offering perks like Lunch facility, Cab facility and n number of other things to attract the employees and to make a a little contribution , the managememt has now changed into an open house culture wherein the management is there to welocome the employee feedback and want to have a clarity on the reasons for Employee dissatisfaction issues. Management in these companies has changed its look over a decade from a close hose cabins to a cubical system where in manager is welcoming employees to approach him and let him know the real life problems in the work areas. Now a manager is concerned about the emplyees birthday, anniversary along with the workload on him.He is looking forward to help him in his ways to get the targets. A small present and a evening part on the birthday of the Employee keeps te employee attached to the company. And there are 100 other areas wherein the company is trying to creat a soft poit for the itself and get its advantage to handle he corporate issues. The conclusion is that the companies want to be among the front runner and And these private companies are still looking forward to change the work culture to suit to the Employee needs to achieve the corporate goal. Wherein the PSU’sand the Govt undertaking and fully government organizations are still following the same old work culture.Even if they are having a job security and a hell lot of other benefits the inspiring youth is looking forward to the private companies as their future stepping stone. you ask a guy in today’s time that where he want to go, then every inspiring guy will tell you a different storey where private players are well in picture. So where in the next 10 years the economy is demanding a great change and improvement in infrastructure in terms of education and human resource the govt will surely has to keep an eye on the changing world and act accordingly otherwise the date is not so late that the charm of looking for a govt job in the youth will go vanished…

Attitude & Recruitment

at · Filed under Information & Resource Center and tagged: · Edit
It was mid of January when my company people wanted me to recruit a number of 6 people to start a batch for the call center. I being in Recruitment and Hr for the last 3 years was not much
excited to recruit as this was like a day to day activity for me. I started tracking candidates for the same. Got One campus interview to a local Hardware training institute (My company is into hardware business and require Tech support executive for the call center) . It was Jetking info train where i did the campus interview. I got only one guy from there as i looked for very polished and good communication skills candidates. I got the rest from one of the job portal familiar in India. The thing i noticed this time is that comparatively my selection rate is decreasing and this has become a trend in me. I remember the last batch i had recruited it was of 7 people and i had to look out for more then 35 people to get the required number. Again to get 35 people short listed for the interview i would have had telephonic contestation with more then 60 eligible candidates available through different sources and the last to last batch the hunt was much larger. I have noticed that the hit rate or selection rate has gone down as i have become more experienced in recruitment. There could be different reasons for that but what i find is that the issue is that i have become choosy in recruitment and i have recruited better people for the same positions. So its looking for an improvement in me for me as far as my Recruiting skills are concerned. So its very useful but the thing is that i have specialized in recruitment. In turn if i see this from other direction with introspection I feel that i have got a great reason for the same. Now I am getting the basic things like educational qualification and other prerequisite things in a candidate but i am not getting the right kind of attitude within the candidate. This is a very useful ingredient for any position or a candidate to justify the right fit. In a time span of 3.5years i have done extensive recruitment where in i have hired approximately 400 people and would have spoken to thousands of people for telephonic round of interview. In this period i have taken more than 10000 interviews where the maximum positions i have hired for, were entry level and junior level positions. But my experience says that My point is shifting to qualitative things in a candidate rather then general features like educational qualification, past experience etc. And that is why its being very difficult for me to get the right kind of attitude in place for a job position. But the moment i get the same, i go beyond boundaries to get the guy on the required desk. But i have taken this into count that i am not crossing my limits nor the cost effectiveness and the prerequisite things. Will there be any issue in my recruitment or the change in mindset will be beneficial for me, i need to wait & watch….

My Enduring Love for South India

This time, I want to share one of my oldest fascinations, my deep admiration for South India.

Ever since childhood, I have felt a special connection with the South. I cannot explain exactly why, but I have always admired the lifestyle, culture, and the way people there approach life. Perhaps the roots of this affection lie in my hometown and the environment in which I grew up.

I come from Berhampur, a vibrant town on India's east coast near the Bay of Bengal. The city has a unique cultural identity, with nearly 60% of its population speaking Odia and 40% speaking Telugu. Located just 25 kilometers from the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border, Berhampur enjoys a beautiful blend of both cultures.

Known as the "Silk City of Odisha," Berhampur is famous for its exquisite silk sarees, locally known as Patto Sarees, handcrafted with remarkable skill and intricate workmanship. With a population of over six lakh people, the city continues to grow while preserving its cultural richness.

Berhampur is also an important educational hub. It is home to several renowned institutions, including:

  • Berhampur University
  • Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Medical College
  • Khallikote College
  • Uma Charan Pattnaik Engineering School
  • Ganjam Law College
  • Several nationally recognized engineering colleges

The people here are resilient. Over the years, they have faced floods, droughts, cyclones, and epidemics, emerging stronger each time. The close interaction between Odia and Telugu communities has created a unique cultural harmony that has existed for generations. Growing up amidst this blend of cultures naturally inclined me toward South Indian traditions and lifestyles.

First Impressions of the South

Over the first twenty-six years of my life, I had the opportunity to visit South India several times. I traveled to Hyderabad and Chennai on multiple occasions and even ventured further south to Thiruvananthapuram.

Every journey left a lasting impression on me. I loved the food, the hospitality, and the overall atmosphere. Being a foodie, good food automatically enhances my opinion of a place, and South India never disappointed. The only challenge I occasionally faced in coastal regions was the salty water and the availability of drinking water. Apart from that, every experience was memorable.

A Journey During Difficult Times

My most unforgettable visit to South India came in September 2007, under circumstances far different from leisure travel.

My father was suffering from a serious heart condition and urgently needed surgery. At that time, I felt completely lost. Thankfully, my uncles stood firmly beside me and offered invaluable support.

After consulting specialists, we narrowed our options to two prestigious hospitals: AIIMS in New Delhi and the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram.

Since I was based in Delhi, I initially explored the AIIMS option. However, despite my efforts and contacts, I was informed that the waiting period for the procedure would be at least a month. My father's condition was critical. He required a pacemaker implantation, and waiting was simply not an option.

That was when we turned our attention to Thiruvananthapuram. Through my uncle, I learned that an Odia doctor was serving as the Head of Cardiology there. The moment I heard that, I felt a sense of confidence and hope.

The situation at home was tense. Everyone was worried, and the financial burden was overwhelming. The surgery was expected to cost nearly ₹4 lakh. After calculating all my savings, I realized I had only ₹1.5 lakh. I had to arrange the rest through a bank loan.

While my father, mother, and two uncles were already in Thiruvananthapuram, I flew there via Mumbai and arrived on a hot afternoon. From the airport, I headed straight to the hospital.

Seven Days in Thiruvananthapuram

Those seven days were emotionally exhausting but equally memorable.

While my father's surgery remained at the center of our thoughts, I could not help but notice the beauty of the city around me. The food was wonderful, the people were warm, and the surroundings were breathtaking.

The roaring Arabian Sea, endless stretches of beaches, swaying coconut trees, and the calm atmosphere captured my heart completely. Despite the anxiety surrounding my father's health, the city left a profound impression on me.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and with renewed hope, we prepared to return home.

The Journey Back

The train journey back remains one of the most beautiful travel experiences of my life. As the train moved through Kerala's lush landscapes, crossing rivers, forests, mountains, and backwaters, I found myself glued to the window. Raindrops sliding down the glass added a magical charm to the scenery outside.

For someone who had spent nearly a decade in Delhi, battling heavy traffic and crowded roads every day, watching nature unfold uninterrupted for hours felt almost surreal.

The changing landscapes, peaceful villages, winding rivers, and dense greenery created a sense of calm I had rarely experienced before. More than the scenery, it was the warmth and friendliness of the people that stayed with me.

A Lasting Connection

That journey deepened my love for South India in ways I had never imagined. What began as childhood curiosity evolved into genuine admiration and emotional attachment.

South India, for me, is not just a region. It represents warmth, resilience, simplicity, natural beauty, incredible food, and unforgettable memories. Every visit has given me something valuable, and I continue to look forward to every opportunity to return.

It was yet another golden chance to experience the South I had always loved, and it only strengthened my desire to explore it again and again.

प्रोविडेंट फंड ( Provident Fund )

It was the first day in office and he was very nervous to meet his new colleagues, boss & subordinates in Delhi. The boss seemed a polite and professional man and a man of attitude but he managed to have the colleagues somewhat familiar to his last organization. He was looking for the ease to speak to somebody and get easy. Suddenly his cellphone rang and he was about to receive the call somebody form the far end shouted ” put the cell on vibrate or switch it off as this is not allowed to ring in Office premises”. He suddenly reacted to this and dropped that call to switch the cellphone to vibration mode. Even if he felt sorry for the incident he was upset by the present-day behavior of the employees. The whole day he spent doing all shut things as his mood was spoiled by the incident in the morning. But being in professional attitude he managed to spend a good day with his colleagues in understanding the nature of his work in the new organization. It was 6 o clock in the evening and was time to swipe out the access card and exit, he looked for help from the receptionist and came out of the office premises. He wanted to celebrate the first day in a new job and went to a bar nearby his residence. It was a good drink and a good dinner to end the day. In this fashion he spent the whole first week and the first week. But at the end of the month his boss told him that for that month he wont be getting his salary as his employee code has not been generated by the IT team. It was like a shock for him as he was running short of funds to handle his day to day expanses and with this answer his hopes were shattered and he was lost for a second and was finding people among his circle to borrow money. Neither on that evening he went to the bar nor had a good dinner. Instead visiting hotel he preferred to cook dinner for himself. Having few sips of coffee he thought what if he could withdraw PF from the 3 last companies this could be a good amount to the bad times….
The above issue may or may not rise many a times but as far as pf is concerned you all will be in the favour of having this sum ASAP. But these days when people are changing their jobs very often they are leaving their pf in the pervious organizations. There could be many reasons for that ; lack of information about Pf, lack of information about withdrawing the same and lack of time could be the three main reasons for that. So being into HR this not being digested by me. SO for a lehman employee who doesn’t know about anything about PF here are few important things which could help him get the PF amount.
· Please take a note that PF is elaborated as Provident fund and this is mandatory for each and every employer to pay ( Please refer
www.epfindia.com for the eligibility ).
· 12 % of your basic salary is deducted every month as Employee contribution to the provident fund ahd your company put its contribution of the same 12% of your basic salary and the whole amount is deposited in govt account under your pf number and govt provides a fixed annual intrest on the amount.
· Please take a note that out of the 12% deducted only 3.67% goes to the Pf fund and the rest 8.33 % goes to the pension fund.
· The most important thing is that if any employee is less then 6 months old in any organization he is not eligible to withdraw Pension from the Pension fund ( 8.33%).So don’t worry if your pf amount is lesser than what you were expecting as pf is only 3.67% pf the basic.
· After 40days of leaving any company an employee is eligible to apply for the pf amount.
Now you have two option. First to withdraw the PF amount and second teo transfer the PF amount to your present company’s PF account.
TO WITHDRAW PF
· To withdraw pf & pension one needs to fill up two forms ; form 19 & form 10C both can be downloaded from the url
www.epfindia.com
· Please fill up the form and please don’t forget to affix revenue stamp (you will get in Post office across India) and sign on the stamp itself.
· There are options to receive the pf amount. As per my response is concerned payment through account payee cheque is the safest mode to receive the money. Please put a tick mark on the right option to receive the amount through Account payee cheque.
· If you select to receive the amount through cheque then you need to put the corect mailing address of the branch with pin code.
· After filling up the form you need to submit the forms along with your recent bank statement( If private bank & copy of passbook if a nationalized govt bank) in the last organization Hr department. Once its done then its the Hr department of your last company and the PF office to work on it. If everything goes in normal routine you pf amount will be in your account within 15days.

TO TRANSFER PF
To transfer the PF amount to your existing pf account in the new company you need to download Form 13 fom
www.epfindia.com then please fill it properly and send the same to your last organization and teh HR from the same office will fill his part in the form including your PF contribution and will send the same to the regional PF office. Now its the PF office who will trasfer the amount to your regional pf office which in turn will send teh same into your account.
I think I have put all the basic information. If something else required then please let me know.

Yesterday it was all a horrible night and i got up from my bed at around 3।30 am। When it started i was moving towards the lift of a govt hospital and a lady was entering the lift। by seeing me coming into the lift she shut the lift but i interrupted by inserting my right hand into it। Second time too she wanted to close the lift but did not succeed doing so.Probably she was denying me to come inside the lift. Buti entered forcibly. Then she got out one floor before i got out of the lift. After i came out of the lift i saw there were three men out of them one was crying and the other two were consoling him but i was not able to see anyone face. then i moved on i saw one man lying on the floor and another was besides him. Then i moved on and i suddenly got the impression that there is nobody alive there in that hospital and all are dead bodies as i was not able to see any-body’s face. Then i started to flee from there. I found a narrow way out but there also 4 legs i found lying on the floor then i turned around i saw a broken handle with ankle on the floor then i ran here n there and in that run i woke up from my bed. I dragged my mobile phone n witnessed the time at 3.30am and pumped up the volume of Hanuman chalisa on the MP3 player. I listened to the chalisa and one more song. Then i tried to gulp few drops of water and then fell asleep… It was the alarm at 6.30am which woke me up and i extended to 7 am and then got ready for office. Just another dream but it is the worst of all in the last 6 months…

the last call…

it was around 8.30pm yesterday when i received a call from an unknown number. After confirming that this is not a local c all i received the call ( I generally dont pick calls from unknown numbers after 8 in the evening।But the repeated calls made me to pick up the calls. At first it was a call in Oriya,my mother tongue. Then gradually i spoke to the guy and to my surprise he was among few people who were there in my school days. We spoke for 20mins and during the whole talk he discussed such topics which i will hardly forget in my life ; the first girl , the schooldays ,the great enthusiasm and all that. I was just guessing who was that guy but he asked me to guess. After being so involved in the discussion i made it sure the Friend who is now in Chennai and into a private job. The conversation threw me into the past and i was just lost n those great memorable days.

- happy father’s day -

just a thought in my mind to share my ideas about every person around me has poped up in my mind window like a stray message in the Internet leather board… Being happy about the feeling i am just trying to jail them in my words here… in this drive i would describe everybody day by day…
Here i go with my Father…
A man with great philosophy of ancient india and a drive to achieve something in life and with the betterment of Each and everybody is his motto. A real One man army who has capacity to handle every problem on his way and fly high in worst conditions. I have seen him managing things in the best way…Always he is guided by the philosophy of helping the poor and making them stand in the main stream. I have witnessed many a cases wherein people don’t stop admiring his deeds and abiding by his generosity. I remember his famous Quote and in the present day too i follow it ” Adjustment is the modern civilization “. This was his mantra to handle situations in the very tight income that he had. He had a 5 guys team to feed with 4 more to take care at his place. After completing his Graduation in Arts stream from Khallikote College,Berhampur he opted for a job in the state Govt. and he got the job and as i remember him saying that he had moved approximately every district in the State of Orissa during his tenure in his job. He has joined his job as a clerk and very soon he opted for the Orissa Administrative Services and because of his brilliant educational track record he cleared it.In his whole tenure, he used to be a disciplined and dedicated person. As far as work is concerned he was among those people who used to inform people about the work and get it done. His administrative skills are still being appreciated and honoured too. Side wise he had a lenghty family affairs and he maintained a balance between his elderly parents and us. He satisfactorily handled the responsibilities of being a gentle and awesome man in his entire tenure in his job & personal life. His simplicity and honesty towards life and the abiding principles are the main things have made him a man of words and a man of commitment. He is a recently retired man now and is looking forward to spend the rest of his life as he spent his life till date. He is an Ideal man i have ever met and i would follow his principles till i live.

    Anuj,a proud father today…

its 7 minutes past to zero hours… i am alone with Ateq’s laptop. 3.21 in the afternoon yesterday Anuj called me and informed the birth of his baby girl child. He sounded like a happy man ad just for couple of seconds i could not believe the news that he is a father now… after he hang on the phone i called him and made it sure to my mind that he is a father now…feeling lucky for the couple and the angel. I will wait to have a glimpse of the babyd. To take a note; its 18 th march2008 and its her birthday.

    God is Argentine !!!

Here i come with my most favorite game, the game of football and the how can i forget the Soccer God, Diego Armando Maradona.I am a huge fan of the god and i love to see him rolling the ball and the numerous goals he made. Being from the east coast of India i am a huge fan of Soccer and i played a lot of football during my school and college days. Being a big fan of the god i loved to see his recordings and every news of the legend.
I remember we used to see recordings of the legend and tried to copy his dribbling style and every move of the legend in our play. But the god is so versatile and so talented that we could not get ourselves focused on any particular area of improvement. But we loved to do so as we loved the game of Soccer and the soccer god.I remember badamama as usual a good player and a great admirer of the legent followed him.And while he was on field he used to get the great love for his game and his tricks which somehow resembled the legendary god. He used to fight for the jersey number 10 and loved to wear it.He played a lot of football and even represented his university for the game and managed to win few of the games. I was in 10th standard and he was in his Law classes then when the fever of soccer ruled our mind and body. He used to play from a local club as well which is a popular club in my place and i loved to see him play and shoot goals as a striker. Our love for the game, the number 10 Argentine jersey was a favorite among the then crowd. Even today i have a ball and intense love for the game and i usually find time and place to get addicted to the game of soccer but to my bad luck i hardly get my desire satisfied

in search of a new Destiny

Its the day before yesterday when i had to finalize my accommodation in Delhi as we friends are getting apart and each one of us had to look out for separate accommodation… This is the first time in my life i am going to live alone. It was in September 2001 when i came top Delhi in search of a brand new look to my lifestyle and a career. From then till now its already 7 years have passed and i am sharing my accommodation with my friends. Now the time has come when my friends are getting married and for the same reason we need to live or independently. SO in search of a new Destiny i wondered the wide streets of Delhi to the narrow galis. For an average earning guy in Delhi an economic accommodation is not finite or impossible but need to have patience and a great search Engine in mind. At least n number of visits to the property dealers and individual owners finally i managed to get an accommodation which is not so modest and not so bad. From my point of view i find the same as a good one. With a definite responsibility and a consciousness in my mind i am going to change my address and hoping the best. In a couple of months time i am going to make numerous changes in my current lifestyle and this will definitely affect a lot to that.Where i am single and ready to mingle and with my brother coming to me i have a great shoulder of responsibility and courage to handle the forthcoming changes in my life. With a twist in my career i need to have a eagle eye on the ongoing changes in the industry and accordingly choose the right blend of interview calls and choose the best option to keep the ball rolling. With additional responsibility from My Younger brother’s coming to Delhi, fathers retirement this month and the next change in my hometown are matters which needs my attention. I am well prepared to take a head on collision with the issues and will efficiently be able to handle them. But what all i need is your best wishes…will you wish me no…

    मेरे पापा की last day of working (३१ मार्च २००८)

    Dosti-duniya aur orkut…

I had a dream ever to make number of friends when i was in my intermediate….then i jumped to college.. i remember i was in a mood to find out options for a search engine for friends.. i was a well communicated and a talkative guy in my college… as i liked the subject BIOLOGY and my professors too liked me because of my love for the subjects. i remember when the professor was not there in the biology class i was asked by the other lecturers to take the class for junior classes. in this way i was a popular figure in my college and i took the advantage to gain attention of the public and my desire to make lot of friends was full filled. in the same go when i came to Delhi in 2000 i had the same desire to expand my friends circle. I remember i used to read YOUTH a weekly supplement in the INDIAN EXPRESS which was published on every Friday. I remember i had put a to liner add in the same youth express in the “ink link” column. After two month i received a handful of 40 letters in reply to my add in the youth Express. I was a happy man and i started replying to the letters. And it was a regular activity to reply and receive letters daily. I still continue the same penfriends and i am having a happy and healthy friend circle. When i started it was 44 but not it has reduced down to 5 people only (DEEPTHI from Chennai,Mayusha-Bhubaneswar,Renitha - Bangalore,Sunil- Jaipur,Ram-mumbai). But now the frequency of letters has converted to e mail and phone calls. But form last month we have restarted the process of sending letters to each others. This already 6 years we are having this noble relationship. we share our thought , we share our views and we advice each other on specific issues and we do it frankly. We speak about many a things ,issues and share our thoughts and ideas. I feel proud when i find one of these friend has got a distinction in her college and get sad when i see somebody in sombody’s family has passed away. We have completed 6 big years and would be connected as long as possible.

Aaj bhi pura din mauj masti me chala gaya aur aaj bhi maine kooch nahiin kiya apne liye. Office me bhi aaj maine poore din blogspot me aur wordpress me bita diya. maine aaj apni profile bhi banaya wordpress me jo blogspot se bahut acha hai. Aaj ek iranian admi ki kooch likhei padhi jisme osne Aurat ke teen roop Maa,Behen,Patni ke liye kooch umda lavz likha tha padh ke acha laga… Osne maine apne comments bhi chode.Kitni ache khayalat the. Aaj Dutun se bhi chat hui bichara ladki patane me laga hua hai par abhi tak safalata nahin mili oso pareshan sa hai…sach main zindagi me samasyaoon ka anta nahiin hai na hi manushya ki umeed ki seema. Aaj kahin ek company se interview call bhi aya tha aur maine jaldi jaldi main ose haan kar diya aur wo interview bhi kal hai.Pata nahin kya hoga kaisi company hoga.kal baje ki interview hai aur kal subha hi oske liye prepare karna padega. Anyway kal dekhunga. Kal kisi ek anjaan nuber se raat ko do message bhi aye maine ulta poocah to koi jawab nahiin aya.pata nahiin kaun hai par jo bhi hai osse mujhse baat karna chahiye. Aaj bhi maine ose call kiya tha par phone pick nahiin hua.Aaj subha subha titu ke mummy papa jo ki pichle do mahino se humare yahaan ruke hue the chale gaye aaj ghar suna suna sa lagega aur wo apne aako khoya khoya payega.Onhen chodne ke liye ateeq utha tha subha par main nahiin uth paya.background main sunai diya tha mujhe par uthne ki himmat nahiinhui mujhse. Office me bhi sab log yahi keh rahe hain par main sabko jhutha sabit karne main peech nahiin hat ta. Par main khus hoon aur april me ghar jane ke baad humesha ke liye khoos ho jaunga… aur kyon na hoon khoss kooch haq zindagi pe mera bhi hai shayad aur abhi to main zinda hoon.bhale zindagi mujjhse rooth gayee ho abhi maine haar nahiin mani. Baki kya farak padta hain chahe duniya kaise ho kaise nahin main to khoos hoon na wahi kafi hai… khus reh aye zindagi sada yun aur gayeja tarane khusiyoon ka yun hiRoz jo jalta hai maut zindagi ki safar me deja ek sada umeed ki yun hi….

Today it was a bad start for me as i woke up with a bad sense of humour. This was just an extension of my mood yesterday when i was pissed off because of the present condition of my life. I find no excitement in life where i have nobody to understand my situation and nobody to listen to me. Not even the almighty lord is listening to me.For the last one month i know how I have spent each day. Everyday i wake up in the morning I feel frustrated and i find guilty of being alive. In the course whne time passes and the day comes i try to forget things and come on to the mainstream. Anyhow i pass the day. But the evening again brings me the same feeling in me and the eve is gone. today too is the same case. In Office too closed another candidate namely Abhijit Dev, the forth candidate in the way to start a batch of 5 in the next batch. This guy has an experience of around 2.5 years and is currently working with SKODA motors as an EDP executive. Anyhow i have managed to speak to somebody in that company and got an update on the same topic. Today i got a reply mail from Sanjukta too regarding the same issue… so still there is hope for a better tomorrow. Lets see when the much awaited tomorrow comes into action… He gifted me a diary 2008 today which is really good and i like that….

    I am as i was…

thought in a mind …As I remember i was only 2 year old when i gained my conscious mind which made me realise and remember how the world was at that time and since then i have made a note that life is a better place to remember. This is then when i was in 6th or 7th standard i wanted to note down everything as a written manuscript. I had heared stories about my AAI and all mausi’s about me and my parents and it was such an humorous story for me and i enjoyed all these moments and a thought to capture all these moments came into my mind.I had promised my AAI to get the same converted into a book. In due course of time it was not at all possible for me to do so but now i think i should start doing the same.the name gameI remember the days when i was more close to Bau (My Grandmaa) than my Maa.As i was there with her in Golanthara (My Village) and my parents were there in KENDRAPARA (Where my father used to work) i had built up a special bonding with my grandmaa. Those were the days when i used to be very much wild and started using abusive language and i remember i was beaten badly by my father for that. Those were the days of learning for a 2 year old child as jeetu. I remember my AAI telling me that my grandpa did not like my father marry my mother and he used to do the typical indian daughter in law and father in law relation and did not like my mother at all. When my mother was expecting me he never visited her and did not care for her.I was born in Berhampur under the survellence of extensive love and care on my AJA (NANAJI or Mathernal rand father) in Berhampur. When i was born SANA MAA (My Mother’s Mausijee) had given me the name ” JEETU” the winner.According to her i had won my mothers expectation against the will of my grandpa and his ambiguity.I remember people close to me telling me like i was so fair that people used to call me as of i have come fromany foreign coutry.Becasue of my fatty look everybody used to hug me and liked to carry me with him.i was lived and cared by everybody except my grand parents.the school days…I was 2 and half year old when my father took me with him to Kendrapara where i stayed with my parents till i was 12year old(6th Standard).I studid my primary school in Sant sahi Primary School,Kendra para and gotadmission in Baldevjew High School. It was then when my father got transfered to POLASARA (A place in Ganjam District of Orissa) where i stayed and studid till 10th standard. I would say the most valuable 5 years in my schooll life i have spent there and built a foundation. During my school days i was an avarage student and much interested todawards extracurrucular activities like sports, music, singing and lot many other things. I was a good player in Football, kabaddi and an avarage layer in cricket too. I was the captain of my school team in Both cricket & football and kabaddi as well. i was teh class monitor as well and people who were in the good students including wild guys and those interested in sports were in my special interaction and we enjoyed a lot during that period.I was in school NCC as well during my 2 years participation in NCC i was promoted to ACC (Assistant cadet crop) and leaded the team in case of need and during the parade in 26th jan and 15th Aug.the pooja season…I clearly remember we used to be very excited as the poojafestivals were there .Here i would like to clarify one thing that pooja means Durga pooja,Ganesh Pooja,Saraswati Pooja etc. we students remember that during ganesh pooja and saraswati pooja we were arranging pooja pandals in school premises and we were enjoying a lot during that period. It was a competition among the all deities of teh town for the pooja pandal and we were arranging huge funds for that from people in streets and households. We all boyz were looking for girls of other schools and were peeping into other pandals for the same too. As mine was a boys school we were more curious about that.School days continues…We were having competition in studies too.Being from a small town good students from the reknowned schools were poular in the town and marks in different subjects were compared in various classes and accordingly students were respected. But being an avarage student in teh 6th standard i was pushed by my parents to study hard. As it was a board exams in 7 th standard i had put my best foot forward to come first in my class with an a grade which was then a distinction. Again after i finished my 7th class exams i was again wild enough to earn a bad name in my school. 8th and 9th stabdard i had enjoyed a lot . Again 10th standard was back again with a huge Board exams which was supposed to decide my next approach to my career.I remember once my maa scolded me a lot and then i promised me to get good marks in 10th and i think i had managed to get 581/750 and had got a seat in science college,Chatrapur in 10+2.In orissa still it is considered that 10+2 is the starting of college life unlike the north where colege starts with graduation. So i entered into my college life.the biggest breakdown…I remember it was my trayamasika pariksha in my school when we got to know that AAJA’s health(Nanaji) was not ok. I along with rest of my family were to flee to Berhampur at 12.00 in night. Its around 4 hrs journey from Polasara to Berhampur and the whole way we were told that he is serious and wanted to seee my mother (His elder daughter). But actually he was no more at the time we reached there. That was the first time such an ocaissaion of condlolences was there.Everybody was weeping and crying. First time i had witnessed a hige family suffering because of a silly mistake of a single member and all the name and fame was lost forever. My uncle being a brave man managed to handle the situation with a helping hand from my father then.I was a close witness on that ocassion where i was shaken by the consequences. My nanaji, the finest personality i have ever seen was no more.A science graduate from the Prestigious Khallikote college with a degree in LAW, a cream football player and a reknowned name in OSRTC (Orissa State Road Transport Corporation) was no more and teh years earned name and fame was lost due to a silly mistake by his own son. The family had lost a diamond wich hardly can be replaced.the board exams…As per my education background is concerned i am a raw guy who completed his schooling from Govt.Schools in Orissa board in Oriya Medium till 10th and then i entered teh 12th with English as the language but that to in Council of higher Education,Orissa.BEing in the traditional educational system I was open to face the borad exams( Exams conducted by the main board of the state unlike the schools is called Board exams).Till 5th standard i studied in the Saant Sahi Primary School in Kendrapara.I remember i was an avarage student and i used to listen to the long hearings of my father after I get my Progress Reports each year. The subject called Mathematics was like a wild animal for me and i had never scored more than 82 % till 5th standard. Then my father got transfered to Polasara where i started my high school studies( In Orissa Board 6th to 10th is called High School Studies). Then also i had to chase another board exams in 7t standard. I remember i used to read till 1 o clock in the night for the same. And i had cleared the exams with 72% marks and my father was quite happy for me then. That was the first time i had witnessed happiness because of my studies otherwise everytime i got the Repoart card i was only listened lessions from my father. Then i remember baba had got me a new BSA slr cycle an di had enjoyed a lot wiht th it. to this 10th was on my head as anotherNext to this i remember that it was the big exams in 10th again which had to decide which way my career should go. The year was 1995-95 and i remember i was very tensed as every student was then. I abandoned my favorite place which used to be the big school playground where i was spending almost the full day playing almost all possible games i could play. let me tell you in cricket i had formed a team in my class and was respected as captain and had played as many matches as we could with our senior and junior class teams. AS i remember generally we used to win matches at teh cost of good batsman and good bowlers. I being the captain used to decide the batting line up and was respected as a good decission maker too. As a player i tried to be an all rounder and most of thetime s i have succeded in proving so. It was 10th class and i was damn serious with the exams this year and i had gave up sports and all other scrap things which consumed time like anything.I was concentrating on my studies and this time it was medical (Jee preparations in my mind) which used to be very prestigious studat at that tme (Even today it’s so).I clearly remember i have made nights into days for this exams & i was using chalk pieces for writting the formulae and teh maths on the backside of one of the doors of our house. In orissa board to avoid copying and other malpratise issues board summons different schools for different schools as examination centers.Mine was a govt school in KAVISURYANAGAR.My father had accompanied me alongwith a peon for the exams.we had rented a room for that.As a loving and caring father my baba had arranged a peon for us who used to cook food for us and we used to study and study only.we stayed there for 11days and after we completed our exams we came back to our homes. After two and half months result came and it was satisfactory as expected.I was First in the class and with 581/750marks. Even if it is not a great score i was first in the class too as there was less competion and i was an above average student then. As this was a smal villege in ORISSA students were used to be known by their numbers in 10th. In that way i was too much popular those daysBeing assured to get a seat in Science stream in 12th i headed towards the Most Reknowned College in South Orissa ( Khallikote College , Berhampur). Really it was Government Science College Chatrapur where i got admission in 10 +2 and i cant forget how we were travelling at that point. In the second year i transfered myself to Khallinkote college Berh ampur where i completed 10+2 with 55.67%.It was a shock again for my father as i missed the first division. Speculations were there that what will ai do after 10+2 as there were options like MBBS or Engineering or Simple Graduation. As its really a tough case to handle the issue with the courses there in my place i was affraid. It was MBBS what my parents wanted me to be but destiny had something else for me. BEing a loyal child of my parents like my mama’s boy image i traied my level best for the entrance exams.I tried out for couple of years but unfortunately i could not make it. And i have the greatest grieve that i could not fulfill that expectaion of my family.I my life i have een trying to be a best son , a best brother overalla best human being to everybody and i have suceeded most of the times till date. But few chances like that i could not forget in my life.Anyhow i completed my graduation in Zoology with again 59.7% marks and this was again a second hit in father’s expectations. He has invested a lot more money in my studies but i have hardly put few times where i have met his expectations & i feel sorry for that. From my bitrth till graduation every decissioon regarding me had been taken by my parents but for the first time i decided to go for an MBA that to in Delhi. Then my father agreed to my decission and let me coem to Delhi. Then i started taking decission independently and i am happy that my parents have backed me with every decission… It was a hot summer in 2001 in Orissa where tempertature remains a normal 38 to 40 degree celcious… I was awaiting my graduation results and it aal depending where to go in my career. But to my disappointment it came of 6 marks short of first division and so became my father. Then the options left with me at that point was to do either an MBA or MCA.At that time in my place everywhere people were doing post graduation so as to avoid unemployment and to get a job there was a tough competition.MBBS being he most prefered & popular degree among people there i too had tried my luck at this but destiny had something else for me…I tried for couple of times but no results.I had touched the cut off marks for Pharmacy but was not interested in that.So it came to me to take a decission then. Father opted that i should do M.Sc in Zoology or IRPM in My University ( Berhampur University). But it was of less interest for me.It was Bada mama who was in Delhi at that time inspired me and guided me to opt for MBA.hen i suddenly decided that i need have that degree. I clearly remember when father asked me what to do i tossed a coin and it decided to go for an MBA and i came to delhi to pursue that. Sep 25th i left for Delhi and I remember the wet eyes of BABA at bhubaneswar Railway station. The momment the train departed his words were around me saying in a fatherly emotions that if you dont want to go just drop the idea & we will go back. And at that time for the first time in my life i realized how much baba loves me and i cant forget those fat drops from my father’s eyes. But it was like something in my mind to make him proud.I was firm at my decission to make it happen and i boarded the train. The whole two days journey brought a confidence in me and made me understand very first lesssions of lfe. I stayed in Kirti Nagar,New Delhi First with my uncle. Then i shifted to jungpura where i shared my acomodation with couple of guys from Himachal.I had taken a crash course from IMS stdy Circle to prepare myself for the CAT. It was only 2 and half months left for the CAT.I burnt the night lamp for that whole period.Where people took years to clear the CAT i managed to clear the Kozikode IIM but didi not get a call for the GD.I looked back to my father to get me another chance to appear but didi not get a convincing result. Then i opted for MAT and both me and mama appeared fo rthe same and cleared. I took an admission to PGDBM in Guru nanak institute of Management for a two year full time course. I Enjyed a lot for the whole two years and passed with 67% of Marks in the year 2004.Then the real struggle started when i looked for a job. Being an average college i did not get a placement from college and i opted to do something of my own like everybody in my batch did.As I had a dual specialization in HR & Marketin management i was fre to choose both the verticals to explore. During my 4th sem i appeared for an interview in Pinnacle diabetics care and got through it.I went to Mumbai for 15days for the training and came back after completing it succesfully. But it was a job af a marketing Executive in a pharmaceutical company which was not at all my choice and i within a week i left the job and it took me around 6 months to decide whichway i should go.After a long introspection & analysis i reached on a result that i should go for Hr… then i looked for a job in Hr and i got my first break in a consulting Called CIOE ( Center for Individual & Organizational Excellence ). There i learnt the Recruiting Techniques and got Mr Maneesh As my mentor there. I learnt many a things which i am still using and i am thanful to CIOE for that. I stayed there for two months and moved to Group4 securicor (First Select Internationals) which was my first corporate experience and then i am rolling the ball and will continue to do so for the comings years to go…
    My great NCC Camp …
From my early days in my school I was a much interested guy in attending NCC. It was 8th standard when I appeared for the TEST for NCC in my school. I was well prepared for the day and much in 8th standard and as usual i was much excited. I performed well and did the parade well so to impress the selector as he was the only man to decide. We were there in the huge ground behind the school and we around 30 odd students were there and a senior guy from the NCC was there to arder us. finally after a half an hour’s excercise we were asked to go back to our classes and a in the evening the list of selected guys was pasted on the door. And for the whole day i did nothing as my mind was there inthe list. Finally after the final period i fled and my eyes were there on the list.I remember it was my name down forth in the list of 10 people who were selected. I was much delighted on that day and as usual teh evenign was awesome… Thereafter my parade started with the self shout left-right-left left-right-left. I remember teh whole year thrice a week we were practising parade in the evening. With our dress on with shoes and badges we were literally sweating to get ourslef a best parade or march past. After a tiring 2 hrs parade we were enjoying the little tiffin provided to us and i was happy to share the same tiffin with my little brothers who were in junior classes and i remember i was feeling proud as i was a NCC cadet then. On 26th jan and 15th aug we wee supposed to show parade to our guest in school as a part of the independence day parade or republic day parade.SO fo rhtese days we were doing extensive practise and i remember for couple of days the practise continued for 5 hrs continuously. I remember i was a popular face in the parade team because of my good parade practice and interpersonal behavior. Soon in the next year in 9th standard i got a poromotion and i was a seargent in the troop. I used to march ahead of my team and i flet proud to lead a team.Wheni was in 9th standard i got an opportunity to attend one national level NCC camp and my tutor in schol for NCC shouted names for the camp. At first I said yes for the camp but later when in the even i told maa about the camp but maa denied that. I was counting on BABA to agree for the camp. But in teh evening when Baba came maa spoke to him and babs said No to me for the camp…..
Getting late today… will complete tomorrw….
